Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu : On arrival at Kathmandu airport, we receive you at Kathmandu airport and drive to hotel.Free day on your own and tour briefing in the afternoon.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Nepalgunj(165m): Today, we take a short flight along the south side of the Nepal Himalaya, with great views of the Annapurna in particular. Arriving in Nepalgunj, a town in the 'Terrai' on the border with India, we check in at the group hotel.
Day 03: Nepalgunj to Charya Chaur (3010m) via Jumla: We have an early morning flight to Jumla (2370m) in the foothills of the remote Sisne Himalaya. On arrival, we meet our trek crew and porters and walk for approximately 3 - 4 hours to Charya Chaur (3010m) where we set up our first camp.
Day 04: Trek to Kharka (3700m, 5/6 hours) : From Charya-Chaur we climb the forested slopes of the Jaljala Lek on a good trail to the grassy ridge crest at approximately 3700 metres. Descending the other side of the ridge through more forest we make our camp in a kharka (grazing area) at approximatly 2800 metres.
Day 05: Trek to Botan (2680m, 6/7 hours): We continue the descent from the jaljala Lekh, following the fall of the Syaule Khola to a junction with the Sinja Khola (2490m). Here we turn east and following the river upstream, ascend to the village of Botan (2680m).
Day 06: Trek to Ghorasain(3190m, 3/4 hours): We climb beside the Ghatte Khola to the boundary of the Rara National Park where there is a check post at Ghorasain (3190m). We make camp here close to the checkpost.
Day 07: Trek to Rara Lake (2980m, 6/7 hours): From Gorosingha the trail climbs to a saddle above the Ghatta Khola and then traverses the Chuchuemara Danda westwards to reach an alpine-like ridge. We descend through forests of rhododendron, then birch and finally oak, amid spectacular scenery to reach the shores of Rara Lake (2980m). We now follow a shoreline trail taking us to the north side of the lake and our camp.
Day 08: In Rara Lake : A day to explore the lake and its environs. The wildlife here protected by the park include bears, cats, wolves and deer. Overnight camp at the lake. It take depends 8 hous walk around the lake.
Day 09: Trek to Jhyari (2630m): After retracing our steps to the southern shore, we begin our trek out by a different route, climbing to a meadow at 3050 metres and descending via the village of Jhyari (2630m) to a riverside camp at 2580 metres.
Day 10: Trek to Chauta (2770m, 5/6 hours): We climb up to the Ghurchi Lagna Pass (3460m) bedecked with chortens and prayer flags, then descend to the park boundary at Bulbule. Beyond here the trail enters a narrow wooded valley before reaching Chauta (2770m).
Day 11: Trek to Tharamara (3280m, 5/6 hours): Crossing the Chauri Khola the trail climbs to the village of Bhara (2920m) and then descends through Kabra to Nyawre (2660m) on the Sinja Khola. The day ends with a climb through forests of bamboo, walnut, birches and fir to the tiny hamlet of Tharamara (3280m).
Day 12:Trek to Jumla (2370m, 5/6 hours): Following the stream, we ascend through forests of rhododendron, birch and spruce to the Danphe Lagna pass (3720m). From the pass we descend through meadows and more forest to Jumla (2370m).
Day 13:Jumla to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj: Take the early morning flight from Jumla to Nepalgunj and connect with onward flight to Kathmandu.
Day 14:In Kathmandu : This is a contingency day in case of delays to our flight from Jumla. A farewell dinner.
Day 15:Kathmandu airport : Final transfer to Kathmandu airport to get your flight back to home.
